Job Overview The Specialized Instruction Tutor works with students with disabilities in grades K-5 in small groups of students of six or less, who have been identified as requiring specialized instruction in early literacy and foundational math skills. Roles and Responsibilities The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed in relation to the position. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; other work may be assigned when deemed appropriate: The Specialized Instruction Tutor works under the guidance of the Special Education Teacher to provide instruction in literacy and numeracy skills, monitoring progress, and communicating with the Special Education Teacher, and General Education Teacher. Qualifications Below are the minimum qualifications for this job. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also acceptable.
• Bachelor's Degree required, Licensure in Special Education or a related field preferred.
• Ability to relate to children, teachers, and other school staff.
