About this role

Job Title: Chief of Schools Reports To: Superintendent of Schools/ President & CEO Organization: Tejano Center Division: RYSS Texas Public Schools Location: District Office POSITION SUMMARY The Chief of Schools serves as the senior executive leader responsible for the overall academic success, instructional excellence, campus leadership, operational effectiveness, and enrollment sustainability of the RYSS school system. This position provides strategic leadership to principals and district academic leaders to ensure consistent implementation of high-quality instructional programs, compliance with Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirements, achievement of charter performance goals, and continuous improvement across all campuses. The Chief of Schools partners closely with the Superintendent and executive leadership team to advance the district's mission, vision, and strategic priorities. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Education and Certification

• Master's degree in education, Educational Leadership, or a related field required. • Valid Texas Superintendent Certificate or Mid-Management/Principal Certification required. • Doctorate preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of five (5) years of successful district or campus executive leadership experience. • Experience supervising multiple campuses or district-level academic programs preferred. • Charter school leadership experience is strongly preferred. • Demonstrated success improving academic performance, accountability ratings, and organizational effectiveness.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

• Extensive knowledge of Texas Education Agency (TEA) accountability systems, school finance, charter school law, and state and federal education regulations. • Expertise in curriculum development, instructional leadership, assessment systems, and school improvement planning. • Strong organizational, financial, and operational leadership skills. • Ability to analyze and interpret academic and operational data to drive decision-making. • Excellent interpersonal, communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills. • Ability to lead large teams while fostering collaboration, innovation, and accountability. • Demonstrated commitment to equity, student achievement, and continuous improvement

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
