POSITION TITLE: Payroll Processor
STATUS: 12-Month, Full-Time, 260 Day
FLSA STATUS: Exempt x Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Payroll Manager

The salary is $20.97 per hour, with standard benefits. Standard benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off, including sick and vacation time, and paid holidays. Schedule is 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM This position works 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, and 260 days a year. This position starts on August 10, 2026. POSITION SUMMARY: The Payroll Processor is primarily responsible for generating payroll and reconciling all payroll information. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Maintain payroll information for all employees
• Reconcile all payrolls; maintains secure files and ensures payroll data is accurate and complete
• Prepare for audit work
• Produce payroll payments to 4,000 + employees
• Maintain payroll information for all employees, including employee elections, retirement eligibility and direct deposit information
• Participate in review of personnel record as needed
• Maintain and process payroll hours using electronic time keeping system and substitutes (teacher, nurse, custodian, child nutrition and administrators) absence tracking system
• Produce payroll reports
• Handle voided payment procedures
• Resolve/solve any issues or errors in payroll
• Assist in retirement reporting
• Produce W-2 forms annually
• Fully understands all positions in the payroll department
• Prepare and balance payrolls in conjunction with requesting AP checks for outside district vendor payments
• Establish good customer service working relationships with employees
• Maintain and collect garnishments
• Maintain membership and contributions for voluntary elections
• Add and maintain 403(b)/457 accounts
• Maintain calendars (sick/personal/vacation, etc.) for all employees
• Initiate online tax payments and assist with regulatory filings
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Ability to work with others in a cooperative and productive manner and to schedule workload in order of priorities, working with a minimum amount of supervision
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
• Graduation from accredited high school; prefer some accounting experience
• Experience in payroll processing preferably using an automated system
• Knowledge of computer operation, related software, and proficiency in use of P/C and related software
