About this role
Primary Purpose: Responsible for providing restorative practices/interventions related to the needs of students to foster an equitable and positive school culture. The Behavior Reset Center will focus on strengthening relationships and connections between individuals (students and adults) in a school community. Qualifications: Education/Certification:
• Associate's degree, two years of study at an institution of higher learning, or have met formal academic assessment as required by the No Child Left Behind Act
• Educational Aide II or III preferred

Experience:
• Experience working with students and families in a school setting preferred
• Bilingual preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties: Student Management Support
• Provide instruction to students under the direction of the teacher. Work with individual students or small groups to conduct the instructional exercises assigned.
• Maintain open, friendly, and cooperative relationships with students by ensuring:
• restorative interventions are provided to students;
• students understand how the intervention process works and why their involvement is important; and,
• students' points of view are respected and their voices are heard.
• Assist in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom. This includes lunchroom, arrival/dismissal and free time/playground duty.
• Obtain and/or maintain SAMA (Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression) certification.
• Prepare materials for use in the Behavior Reset Center.
• Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and the student handbook.
• Be a positive role model for students; support the mission of the school district.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
Staff Collaboration
• Ensure staff understand the importance of restorative practices and targeted behavior.
• Provide feedback to the campus principal/assistant principal of specific needs or concerns regarding individual students.
• Establish and maintain a professional relationship and level of communication with colleagues, parents, students and community members.
Documentation and Regulations
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student academic, social, and behavioral performance at all times.
• Maintain complete and timely documentation regarding services rendered. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required, including data for tracking behavior and maintaining current behavioral intervention plans.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Maintain an accurate inventory for equipment and materials in the assigned area and request additional supplies as needed.
Additional Responsibilities
• Participate in staff development and faculty meetings to enhance job performance. Participate in special events as assigned. Seek professional growth through continuing education and staff development.
• Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
