High School Math Teacher (9-12) School Year: 2026-2027 Location: Shenandoah High School, Shenandoah, Iowa Position Type: Full-Time, Certified Reports To: High School Principal Position Overview Shenandoah Community School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered educator to join our high school mathematics department for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will be passionate about making complex mathematical concepts accessible and engaging for all learners. Key Responsibilities
• Instructional Excellence: Deliver high-quality instruction in core subjects such as Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and Statistics, aligning lessons with Iowa Core standards. • Student Engagement: Utilize diverse teaching strategies and educational technology to enhance mathematical visualization and personalized learning. • Assessment & Data: Implement formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress, using data to drive instructional adjustments and interventions. • Classroom Culture: Establish a positive, inclusive classroom environment built on mutual respect and clear expectations. • Collaboration: Actively participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), departmental meetings, and vertical alignment sessions with middle school and post-secondary partners. • Communication: Maintain proactive and professional communication with parents, guardians, and stakeholders regarding student growth and well-being. Required Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or Mathematics Education from an accredited institution. • Certification: Valid Iowa Teaching License with a 5-12 Mathematics Endorsement (or eligibility to obtain one by August 2026). • Skills: Strong mastery of high school math content and the ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners. • Training: Completion of required Iowa human relations training and mandatory reporter training.
