Position: Substitute Bus Driver Hours: On-Call, field trips also available Reports to: Director of Transportation Essential Functions:
• Obey all traffic laws. • Observe all mandatory safety regulations for school buses. • Maintain discipline when students are on the bus. • Report undisciplined students to the proper authority. • Keep assigned bus clean. • Keep to an assigned schedule. • Check the bus before each operation for mechanical defects. • Notify the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness. • Discharge students only at authorized stops. • Exercise responsible leadership when on out-of-district trips. • Transport only authorized students. • Report all accidents and complete required reports. • Enforce regulations against smoking on the bus. • Demonstrate organization and professionalism in fulfilling the responsibilities of the job. • Greet all students, faculty, staff, and visitors courteously. • Maintain a positive rapport with students, staff, parents, and the community. • Cooperate with and work in a courteous manner with co-workers and other personnel. • Dress appropriately for the position and work required. • Demonstrate a positive attitude toward school, students, and job and communicate the same to the community. • Accept constructive criticism and suggestions and seek to improve each performance responsibility. • Maintain confidentiality in the school operation. • Adhere to applicable state and federal laws, rules and regulations, board policies and administrative rules. Specifications/Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent. • Have and maintain a safe driving record. • Have or obtain a valid CDL. • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Directors may find appropriate and acceptable.
