Position Title: Middle School Math & Science Teacher (Grades 7–8) Reports To: Building Principal Work Schedule: Full-Time, 10-month position (school year calendar) Location: Aliquippa Junior/Senior High School (Grades 7–8) Position Summary The Aliquippa School District is seeking a dynamic, dedicated Middle School Math & Science Teacher to provide rigorous, engaging, and standards-aligned instruction for students in Grades 7 and 8. The teacher will foster a positive classroom environment, promote student growth in mathematics and science, and contribute to the academic, social, and emotional development of all learners. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Instructional Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver effective daily lessons in mathematics and science aligned with the Pennsylvania Academic Standards and Next Generation Science Standards.
• Incorporate differentiated instruction and assessment strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners.
• Integrate technology, hands-on activities, and inquiry-based learning into instruction.
• Assess, monitor, and track student progress through formative and summative assessments.
• Provide timely feedback and communicate student progress to parents/guardians.
Classroom Environment
• Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment that promotes student learning.
• Implement effective classroom management strategies consistent with school and district policies.
• Foster a culture of high expectations, academic integrity, and student collaboration.
Collaboration & Professionalism
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to support student learning and school initiatives.
• Participate in team meetings, professional learning communities (PLCs), and district professional development sessions.
• Serve as a role model for students by demonstrating professionalism, responsibility, and ethical conduct.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as required by the district and Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Student Support & Engagement
• Identify and support students with academic, behavioral, or social-emotional needs in collaboration with guidance and student services staff.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians to build strong school-home partnerships.
• Encourage students to develop problem-solving, critical thinking, and inquiry-based skills.
Required Qualifications
• Valid Pennsylvania Secondary or Middle Level Teacher Certification in Mathematics and Science.
• Strong content knowledge in middle school math and science.
• Effective communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience teaching at the middle school level.
• Familiarity with integrating STEM and project-based learning.
• Experience with instructional technology and digital learning platforms (Google Workspace, learning management systems, etc.).
• Knowledge of MTSS, PBIS, and restorative practices.
