Salary is $63,760.00 per year with standard benefits Standard benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance, paid sick and vacation time This position works 8 hours per day, 40 hour per week and 260 day calendar. Scheduled work hours are 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM This position is located at the Fenton bus garage POSITION SUMMARY: Assist the Director of Transportation in supervising daily operations. Monitor and evaluate driver performance, identifies safety issues and operational inefficiencies. Take actions to resolve issues and/or discusses recommendations with Director of Transportation. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Manage the daily operations of the Fenton bus lot, ensuring home to school routes are covered in a safe, timely and efficient manner

• Monitor attendance and works with Dispatch to assign sub drivers and buses as required, approves driver and staff time records

• Supervise the district's Trip Coordinator and ensures transportation is provided for student activity trips in accordance with established procedures

• Review calculated athletic trip tickets for accuracy and makes corrections as needed

• Investigate client complaints (administrators, teachers, parents, and students) and coordinates resolution

• Address bus driver concerns and collaborates with others in efforts to design and maintain a positive, collaborative culture across the department

• Facilitate student behavior management reporting and feedback, ensuring timely follow-up with building administrators and communication with drivers

• Monitor bus driver performance, addresses performance issues in compliance with district policies and procedures, and performs annual bus driver evaluations

• Implement district policies and regulations and assists in development of department procedures to ensure compliance with safety and other regulatory requirements

• Collaborate with Director of Transportation and others to establish and monitor KPIs for the department

• Keep Director of Transportation and other administrators informed appropriately

• Perform other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with employees of all levels, as well as parents, students, and community members

• Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

• Ability to evaluate and solve problems independently

• Ability to recognize common safety and health hazards

• Ability to stoop, bend, twist, lift, and move equipment and supplies, including lifting up to 50 pounds on occasion and 25 pounds repetitively

• Ability to wear job-appropriate personal protective equipment

• Ability to work in a variety of locations (office, school buildings, bus garage, parking lot in inclement weather) and travel throughout the district as necessary.

• Experience with and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Google, routing software and GPS tools

• Respect for student, teachers, parents, and support staff

• Sound judgment for handling sensitive issues with discretion

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Must possess a valid Missouri Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a School Bus (S) endorsement

• A minimum of three (3) years' experience in school district transportation

• Supervisory experience preferred

• Familiarity with basic vehicle mechanical processes and maintenance

• Availability outside regular business hours to address issues and emergencies as necessary

• Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position

EQUIPMENT USED:

• Standard office equipment

• School buses, fueling station, bus radios and cameras, electrical connections for engine block heaters, child seat restraints, and wheelchair lifts

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Work is performed in a variety of locations and requires travel throughout the district, working non-traditional hours which may include evenings and weekends, and meet the physical demands of handling a variety of needs.

• Work conditions can include inclement weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures
