About this role
At Nuestro Mundo Public Charter School, we believe that joyful learning, cultural pride, and bilingualism open doors for students’ futures. We are a vibrant K–8 dual language school where students learn in English and Spanish through a 50/50 model. Our mission is to nurture the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally—while celebrating the diverse community we serve. We are seeking a Kindergarten Teacher (English side) who is passionate about early childhood education, dual language learning, and creating a classroom filled with curiosity, kindness, and growth. What You’ll Do: - Teach Kindergarten in English as part of a 50/50 dual language program, collaborating closely with the Spanish-side Kindergarten teacher. - Build a joyful, engaging, and structured learning environment that supports literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills. - Incorporate culturally responsive practices that affirm students’ identities and backgrounds. - Collaborate with colleagues across grade levels to strengthen our whole-child approach. - Partner with families to create strong home-school connections. What We’re Looking For: - A love of teaching Kindergarten and a deep belief in the potential of every child. - Commitment to bilingual education and enthusiasm for working in a dual language setting (Spanish fluency not required). - Strong classroom management and instructional skills. - Creativity, flexibility, and a positive, team-oriented spirit. - Rhode Island teacher certification (or eligibility) in Early Childhood or Elementary Education. Why Join Nuestro Mundo? - A joyful, student-centered community where learning is celebrated in two languages. - A collaborative team that shares positive energy, professional growth, and mutual support. - Opportunities to innovate, lead, and contribute to a school that is redefining education for multilingual learners. - A mission-driven environment where your work makes a direct impact on children, families, and the broader community. If you’re excited to inspire young learners and thrive in a school that values culture, community, and joy, we’d love to hear from you!
