FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Grade: U03 (Unified) Revision Date: July 2021 Location: Lafayette High School JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for the attendance function at the school and for providing clerical support. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Registers incoming students.
• Records and updates daily attendance of students utilizing attendance database and ensures appropriate follow-ups on absences.
• Issues tardy slips to students.
• Accurately inputs data in order to generate class lists, homeroom assignments, individual student schedules, attendance, student enrollment, report cards and other needed information.
• Compiles and distributes reports.
• Maintains records on students, including but not limited to registration, special education student files, cumulative student files, class scheduling, and transfer records.
• Enters disciplinary action codes into database and generates correspondence to legal guardians concerning discipline issues.
• Answers telephone calls, takes messages, and responds to inquiries. Greets colleagues, students, parents and visitors to office.
• Provides clerical support to school administrators.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required)
• High school diploma required.
• Must possess a general knowledge of standard office practices, business English, and general office equipment including computers.
• Typing experience and familiarity with word processing software to include Microsoft Office.
• Excellent public relations and telephone skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, teachers, administrators and volunteers.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Excellent organizational skills required.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED None. SUPERVISION RECEIVED Performs duties under the supervision of the Principal. WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time in a busy office environment; exhibit manual dexterity to enter data into a computer terminal/typewriter; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds.
