About this role
Proctor Public Schools is seeking a 1.0 FTE school psychologist beginning in the 2026-27 school year. Bargaining Unit: EdMN-Proctor Reports To: Superintendent and School Administrators Position Summary The School Psychologist is responsible for promoting the academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and mental health success of all students through collaboration, assessment, consultation, intervention, and systems-level leadership. The School Psychologist partners with educators, families, administrators, and community agencies to create safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments while ensuring compliance with state and federal special education regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Student Assessment and Evaluation
• Conduct comprehensive psychological and educational evaluations to determine student eligibility for special education and related services.
• Interpret assessment results and communicate findings effectively to parents and educational teams.
• Prepare written reports in accordance with Minnesota Department of Education and federal guidelines.
• Participate in initial evaluations, reevaluations, and independent educational evaluations as appropriate.
• Utilized a variety of assessment tools and evidence-based practices to identify student strengths and educational needs.
• Consultation and Collaboration
• Serve as a consultant to teachers, administrators, parents, and student support teams regarding academic, behavioral, and social-emotional concerns.
• Participate as an active member of Child Study Teams, Problem Solving Teams, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams.
• Assist staff in implementing evidence-based interventions and progress monitoring strategies.
• Collaborate with families and outside agencies to coordinate services that support student success.
• Student Support Services
• Provided individual and small-group interventions focused on social-emotional learning, behavior, and crisis response as appropriate.
• Assist schools in developing positive behavior supports and intervention plans.
• Support student attendance, engagement, and school connectedness initiatives.
• Participate in threat assessment, suicide prevention, and crisis response efforts.
• Special Education Compliance
• Ensure evaluations, documentation, and due process requirements comply with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504, Minnesota Statutes, and district policies.
• Maintain accurate and timely records within the district's special education management system (SpedForms).
• Monitor timelines for evaluations and reevaluations to ensure compliance.
• Systems Leadership
• Support implementation of the district's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MnMTSS).
• Analyze student data to identify trends and recommend individual and behavioral supports.
• Participate in district leadership teams and school improvement initiatives.
• Provide professional development and coaching related to mental health, behavior, interventions systems, and data-based decision making.
• Family and Community Engagement
• Develop positive relationships with families through clear communication and collaborative problem solving.
• Connect families with community resources when appropriate.
• Participate in parent meetings and community partnerships that support student success.
• Other Duties
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
• Stay current with research, legal requirements, and best practices through ongoing professional learning.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or school administrators.
Job Qualifications
• Required
• Valid Minnesota School Psychologist License.
• Master's, Specialist, or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
• Demonstrated knowledge of special education law, evaluation procedures, behavioral assessment, and evidence-based interventions.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to establish positive working relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners.
• Preferred
• Experience implementing Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS/MnMTSS).
• Experience with Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
• Experience with crisis prevention, threat assessment, and school mental health.
• Experience providing professional development to educators.
• Knowledge of culturally responsive assessment and instructional practices.

Physical Requirements
• Ability to move between school buildings and classrooms.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to operate computers and office equipment.
• Ability to respond effectively during emergency situations.
Work Environment
• The School Psychologist works in classrooms, offices, conference rooms, and other educational settings throughout the district. The position requires collaboration with students, staff, families, and community agencies and may involve travel between district buildings and outside the district.
Evaluation
• Performance will be evaluated in accordance with district policy, Minnesota licensure standards, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.
