Job Summary Serves as liaison between the district and university. As a liaison, the RCF coordinates, supervises, and assesses UNF pre-professionals assigned to partnership schools. Support educators who serve as teacher mentors of pre-professionals. Assist with implementing school improvement initiatives (i.e., professional learning,) and supporting beginning teachers. Engage and disseminate research initiatives with UNF/DCPS. The position is a one-year term that is renewable up to three consecutive one-year term limits. Both parties must agree to the one-year renewal of each RCF on an annual basis. Essential Functions 1. Supervises and assesses pre-professional teacher (pre-interns, interns). 2. Coaches beginning teachers and interns in the areas such as Classroom Organization and Management, Lesson Planning, Instructional Strategies and Standards-Based Instruction and provide support for General Knowledge and subject area exams. 3. Teaches/co-teaches methods and field based UNF courses as needed as befit of their expertise and credentials 4. Plans and facilitates professional development seminars and weekly meetings for interns and DCPS teachers. 5. Works collaboratively with UNF faculty, PDS administration, mentor teachers, and other school-based educators on school improvement, professional development, and research initiatives. 6. Coordinates placement of pre-professional teachers (course-based, pre-interns, interns). 7. Attends and actively participates in professional learning. 8. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education: Master's degree in Education (minimum of 18 hours in Curriculum and Instruction) from an accredited college or university. Experience: Five (5) years recent teaching with experience in urban/Title I schools (recommend three (3) years in DCPS); mentoring/coaching pre-professional teachers (pre-interns, interns, and/or beginning teachers); teacher-leadership (i.e., committee, department/grade level chair, shared-governance, school improvement); curriculum planning, articulation, instruction, model lessons, training, feedback, follow-up, and coaching. Certifications & Licenses: Florida Department of Education Certification required.
