Administrative Assistant – Middle School Counseling Oakville Middle School Part-time Position Position Summary: Supports and performs general clerical duties for the Counseling Department during the school year. This position works 185 days. Education and Experience: An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred 2 to 5 years of job-related prior experience.
Essential Job Functions include the following:
• Performs secretarial duties including filing, typing, copying, etc.
• Meets and greets school visitors; answers incoming calls and/or route calls.
• Enters data in the computer system.
• Updates records; sorts mail; handles money.
• Assists in other projects as necessary.
• Other duties may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
• Ability to type 60 words per minute and construct a mailable letter.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships.
• Ability to communicate with others inside and outside of the District.
• Ability to apply common sense, collect data and conduct analysis as required to solve certain problems.
• Ability to comprehend correspondence and share information in one-on-one situations.
• Required to professionally handle confidential data that reflects information about students, employees and/or District operations.
• Ability to operate a personal computer and basic office software.
