About this role

QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer master's degree (M.A.) or equivalent, three years related experience and/or training, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) JOB GOAL: Responsible for the management and direction of building maintenance and custodial, grounds keeping, construction, and transportation facilities. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plans, organizes, schedules, and coordinates services and operations to support school sites and district departments.

• Provides for regular inspection and evaluation of district facilities; prepares long and short range plans for maintenance, repair, and site improvement projects as well as transportation needs.

• Consults with School Facilities Board, architects, technical consultants, and contractors to develop projects, work plans, and cost estimates.

• Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local mandates governing environmental protection, hazards to buildings and vehicles as well as their occupants, public safety, and access compliance.

• Directs and manages departmental expenditures and ensures prudent fiscal management in the application of assigned funds.

• Supports the District's crisis management initiatives, including the development of emergency plans/procedures and assistance with practice drills.

• Participates in facilities planning, and participates as a member of boards, committees, and study groups.

• Provides a cost effective purchasing system. Maintain accurate inventories and establish prompt processing and payment.

• Develops all aspects of transportation services.

• Consults with governmental agencies to ensure compliance with State and Federal procedures and mandates.

• Oversees the monitoring of fleet operations and service performance of vehicles transporting students.

• Prepares general fund budget proposals, purchases of school buses and other District vehicles relating to support facilities and activities.

• Manages the legal and operational requirements of students with disabilities, including the transporting of the medically fragile passengers.

• Performs other job related duties as assigned.

• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet and District software and Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and other appropriate technology software).

• Knowledge of appropriate business machines and telephones.

• Monitor special system(s), not limited to, including security and fire alarm systems.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Twelve-month, employee pay and benefits in accordance with Board policy.
