Hours/Time/Calendar/Pay: MEA Master Agreement Calendar Effective: September 1, 2026 Qualifications:
• Possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
• Possess a Master's degree with a major in a Special Education area
• As of September 1, 1990 possess an endorsement in K-12 special education
• Have a minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience, with at least two (2) in a special education classroom
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certified or willingness to obtain
• Completion of START training (preferred)
• Experience with Kelvin (preferred)
Duties & Responsibilities
• Responsible for all aspects of IEP's for new referrals, temporary placements, and full evaluations
• Complete student observations and reports
• Provide support to teachers and paraprofessionals through modeling
• Provide caseload services (consultation with teachers, communications with parents, IEP's, Medicaid Billing, etc.)
• Provide transition services
• Communicate with outside agencies to coordinate support services and transition plans, including job shadowing opportunities
• Actively participate in BIT, POC and staff meetings
• Attend TCC meetings at RESA, WBL site evaluations
• Provide training on self-management systems, behavior plans, contingency maps, etc.
• Other duties as assigned
