PARAPROFESSIONAL I (Attendance Aide, Nurse Aide, Library Aide)
• Successful completion of criminal history background check.
• Proof of US citizenship.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and speak English and perform simple math.
• Must be physically able to efficiently perform the duties of the position. Any physical disability which would cause the candidate to be a hazard to themselves or to others is considered disqualifying.
• Ability to hear conversational voice, with or without hearing aid.
• Good vision, with or without glasses.
• Ability to follow written or oral directions.
• Knowledge of basic office skills, including proficiency in computer programs and record keeping.
• Must possess strong communication and human relations skills.
REPORTS TO: Principal PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage daily attendance of students and record in Real Time.
• Assist school nurse with health checks and record data in Real Time.
• Assist with daily care of students (i.e. taking temperatures, applying bandaids, applying ice-packs, etc.).
• Collect/file employee emergency cards.
• Maintain first aid kits for sport groups.
• Process student/staff accident reports.
• General office duties (i.e. duplicating, sorting, distributing, filing).
• Assist main office staff with filing, copying, answering phones and other clerical duties.
• Scan, sort and shelve returned books and other periodicals.
• Operate the circulation desk, maintain circulation files and handle overdue library loans.
• Monitor barcodes/spine labels on books. Notify librarian when new barcodes or spine labels are needed.
• Monitor labels on shelves. Notify librarian when new labels are necessary or shelves need to be rearranged for additional space.
• Assist with playground supervision, bus loading and unloading, monitor the lunchroom, or other duties assigned by the principal.
COMPENSATION: In accordance with GTSPA contract. ($19,741-$26,502) Final compensation will be based on experience and qualifications. BENEFITS: Full-time staff are eligible for Medical, Prescription, Dental, and Vision Benefits. Sick, Personal and Bereavement Days are included. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 Months VACATION: There is no vacation time allotted to this position. EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated semi-annually in accordance with the Board's policy on Evaluation of Personnel.
