Position Summary The Health Assistant provides health office support and student care coverage throughout the building. This position assists in maintaining a safe and healthy school environment by providing basic first aid, administering medications, supporting student health services, and communicating effectively with school staff, students, and families. Qualifications Medical certification preferred Experience working with children or in a healthcare setting preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations Essential Job Functions Provide first aid and emergency care to students Implement state-mandated screening programs Review and evaluate immunization records Administer medications in accordance with corporation policy and procedures Maintain communication and documentation pertinent to the nursing office Assist with the development and implementation of student health care plans Support health promotion for students, staff, parents, and the community Maintain complete confidentiality regarding student and staff information Demonstrate dependable attendance to meet the health needs of students Travel between school buildings as needed to provide coverage and support Complete any other duties assigned by the Building Principal or Corporation Nurse
