About this role

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To provide students and parents with technical support and troubleshooting on all devices and instructional applications/platforms to ensure device functions properly; to provide efficient and prompt technical support to reduce students' loss of instructional time and provide an equitable and high quality education for all students. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: Associate degree or a minimum of 48 college hours, required COMPTIA certification, preferred Paraprofessional Certification, preferred (required upon employment) Special Knowledge/Skills: Strong interpersonal skills; ability to read, write, and communicate clearly and concisely in English and Spanish; ability to effectively assess, research, evaluate technological issues; knowledge of technology devices and software applications; demonstrate an aptitude for comprehensive understanding and repairing of technology applications. Experience: One (1) year of experience in school setting, preferred One (1) year experience in technology and/or related experience, preferred Experience with Chrome OS, IOS, Windows (desktop all versions), Mac OSX (all versions), Network printers (all makes and models), Scanners (all makes and models), Mobile devices and their OS's, preferred Background in working with at-risk students, preferred Days: 187 Pay Grade: IS-02 Hourly Pay Range: Minimum: $14.75 Maximum: $20.37 Note: Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined individually based on each person's job-related experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Support student and parent technology users on proper guidance and prompt support on the use of technology devices and district applications. 2. Support students and parents to troubleshoot hardware, software, networking and wireless issues with quality and speed. 3. Provide students and parents with technology awareness, trainings, and meetings regarding use of district technology applications/platforms. 4. Maintain Federal Programs Fixed Asset inventory of campus instructional technology equipment and materials; process disposals for State and Federal Programs technology. 5. Contribute to creating a cooperative, collaborative, high-performing, and solutions-oriented department through continuous technology learning. 6. Collect and organize all reports required by the State and Federal Programs Office for students enrolled in a Title I School Wide Program. 7. Participate in appropriate professional development activities scheduled by the State and Federal Programs Office. 8. Maintain high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality regarding student and parent information. 9. Follow McAllen ISD customer service standards. 10. Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator) in accordance with funding source guidelines. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None EQUIPMENT USED: Copier, computer, multimedia equipment and other classroom/office machines WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands: Ability to communicate effectively; maintain emotional control under stress; ability to handle several projects at the same time with frequent interruptions Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Ability to lift at minimum 40 lbs., carry and pull heavy equipment; stooping, kneeling, crouching, pulling; visual acuity; exposure to noise, vibration; work around machinery with moving parts.
