Bismarck Public Schools is accepting applications for Substitute Instructional Aides! Purpose Statement The role of the Substitute Instructional Aide is to support the classroom teacher and/or program specialist by working with students individually or in small groups to enhance learning and engagement. Essential Functions
• Providing drill work, enrichment activities, or remedial support
• Reading aloud and storytelling
• Assisting with supervision during emergency drills, assemblies, recess, field trips, lunch, snack, and cleanup routines
• Supporting students with disabilities or severe disabilities, which may include:
• Assisting with personal care such as washing, restroom use, and dressing
• Helping medically fragile students with daily physical needs
• Assisting students with significant behavioral needs
• Working in environments with occasional undesirable conditions or unavoidable hazards
• Tutoring or assisting students with secondary-level curriculum requiring advanced subject knowledge
• Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding student information
