Ponca City Public Schools Job Description Lincoln Elementary Date: Reports to: Building Principal Supervises: N/A Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent One to Three Months Related Experience Job Goal: Serves as secretary to the principal and as a liaison for the school. Employment Terms: 10 Months, 8 hours per day 7:30 A.M. – 4:00 P.M., Exclusive of a lunch Occasionally, special arrangements may be made with the supervisor if the situation warrants. Supervisor approval is required if the contract day varies. Regular Requirements: Sit for extended periods; twist at the neck and trunk; bend and reach at, below and above shoulder level, repetitive use of fingers and hands to grasp and/or operate equipment; lift/move up to 15 pounds Occasional Requirements: Walk, reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 25 pounds Visual Requirements: Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Makes and receives telephone calls, takes messages, and routes calls.
• Maintains school records and files for building, principal, and related requirements, including official attendance records.
• Distributes mail.
• Greets visitors pleasantly.
• Types, prepares, distributes, files records/reports, correspondence, mailings etc. related to building functions and principal needs.
• Orientates substitute teachers.
• Processes attendance/payroll for the building staff.
• Provides appropriate first aid needs.
• Assists principal in scheduling use of building.
• Orders, processes, and maintains materials and equipment.
• Serves as confidential secretary to the principal.
• Administers medication according to policy and regulations.
• Operates standard office equipment.
• Attends in-service training as stipulated by district.
• Distributes community/district flyers upon approval from the Executive Director of Operations.
• Processes activity/general fund expenditures and maintains records.
• Performs all other tasks as supervisor may assign.
