About this role
This is a part-time Athletic Coordinator (AC)/Teacher position. Will teach 3 periods from 10 am to 2:40 pm and complete the AC responsibilities after 2:40 pm.
Duties:
• Average working hours 10 AM - 6 PM adjusted to meet the needs of the school for events
• Expected to teach a modified teaching schedule in addition to AC duties
• Manage day-to-day needs of students/athletes and athletic facilities
• Focused on all VAC requirements and assist with NIAA standards and requirements to facilitate a successful athletic program
• Recruit, recommend, and retain a qualified coaching staff
• Conduct regular reviews and audits of the financial status of individual sports programs
• Solicit and maintain regular donors and donations for CASLV and the Athletic department
• Coordinate with maintenance and cleaning services for the purpose of maintaining the gym facilities
• Schedules and facilitates all athletic contests, which may include recruiting and arranging medical, safety, and other support staff; coordinating the use of athletic facilities; and completing and maintaining contracts and similar documentation.
• Arranges transportation to and from all away athletic contests.
• Supervise ticket sales and financial accounting for the athletic program.
• Manages insurance coverage for the athletic program; ensures that claims are filed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Verify required medical examinations all forms through Aktivate/ Register My Athlete,
• Max Preps for Students/ Athletes.
• Maintains excellent working relationships with athletic booster groups; when necessary, helps with the creation of new or additional support groups for specific teams and events.
• Coordinates with local media to ensure coverage of athletic events and recognition of athletes and coaches.
• Develop and regulate the budget and appropriate spending for equipment, facilities, salaries, referees/umpires, etc.
• Supervise and follow up coaches requirements; NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, NFHS First Aid, Health and Safety as well as being current in their CPR certification.
• Discuss student eligibility with school administrators.
• Organize Sports Fair/ Celebration at the conclusion of the seasons.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements/ Preferences: Current Licenced Teacher in the State of Nevada 5 yrs Experience/ Background in Athletics or Sports Management Experience working with NIAA / VAC preferred Follow all rules and regulations required by the State of Nevada for professional standards and regulations. CPR / AED certified First aid training preferred
