About this role

ANTICIPATED START DATE: As soon as possible

DETAILS: 9.5-month support staff positions with district-recognized holidays and paid sick leave. Leave may be prorated based on start date. These are full-time, approximately 25 hours per week positions, with a district provided benefits package that includes employee health, dental, life and vision insurance. COMPENSATION: According to the 2026-27 Support Staff Pay Schedule within the Bus Driver range. Placement within the range is based on like experience. The starting hourly rate for this position is $22.85.

JOB SUMMARY: To provide safe and efficient transportation by driving in a careful and prudent manner and exercising the highest degree of care so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district curriculum and extra-curricular program. QUALIFICATIONS:

• Possessing a valid commercial driver license (CDL) with school bus and passenger endorsement (S&P) OR being able to acquire appropriate licensing, endorsement, and training is required

• A high school diploma or equivalent is strongly preferred

• Prior school bus driving experience is preferred

• The ability to perform the essential job functions & be at least 21 years old is required

• The ability to manage the physical demands of the job and pass a physical health exam and drug test is required; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable performance of the essential functions

• The ability to present a certificate annually from a health examiner indicating that they are physically qualified to operate district vehicles to transport students is required of applicants

• The ability to be dependable and punctual is required

• The ability to work independently, use good judgment, think quickly, and respond to situations in a calm manner is required

• The ability to remain flexible & positive with the demands of the job without losing sight of the assignment is required

• The ability to effectively supervise children is required

• The ability to communicate effectively with students in redirecting and using positive reinforcement is required

• The ability to work with a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural student population is required

• The ability to maintain confidential information is required

• The ability to work as a team player and communicate with staff and parents is required

• The ability to develop effective working relationships with students and the school community is required

• The willingness to complete job-related training as needed is required
