About this role
Norris Middle School is accepting applications for a Boys Basketball Assistant Coach for the 2026–2027 school year. This position is responsible for assisting the head coach in all aspects of the basketball program while providing a positive and supportive experience for student-athletes. Responsibilities include:
• Assist with planning and conducting practices and games.
• Encourage sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and personal growth.
• Help monitor student-athlete academic eligibility and behavior.
• Assist with supervision of athletes during practices, games, and team travel.
• Support the implementation of the team's philosophy, goals, and expectations.
• Comply with all Anderson County Schools, TMSSAA/TSSAA, and school policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
• Previous coaching or playing experience in basketball is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, faculty, and the community.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Must meet all district employment requirements and coaching certification requirements.
