About this role
Norris Middle School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Girl's Basketball Assistant Coach for the 2026–2027 school year. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the head coach to develop student-athletes both on and off the court while fostering a positive, competitive, and educational athletic environment. Responsibilities include:
• Assist with planning and conducting practices and games.
• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and character development.
• Help monitor student-athlete academic eligibility and behavior.
• Assist with supervision of athletes during practices, games, and team travel.
• Support the head coach in implementing the program's goals and expectations.
• Comply with all Anderson County Schools, TMSSAA/TSSAA, and school policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
• Previous coaching or playing experience in basketball is preferred.
• Ability to establish positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Must meet all district employment requirements and coaching certification requirements.
