About this role

Position Summary:

Teacher will serve as a student-centered educator who is a learner and warm demander for all learners. The teacher will establish collaborative & impactful relationships with colleagues, families, and students. Teacher will understand and model best instructional practices, serve as a member of a Professional Learning Community, and ensure high levels of student learning. Candidate must have a learner, inclusionary, and equity-focused mindset and see that their presence has an impact with students and our school environment. Primary Responsibilities: Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet students' unique learning needs, goals, and accommodations.

• Provide direct instruction in core academic subjects and social-emotional skills using evidence-based teaching strategies.

• Adapt and modify curriculum to support diverse learning styles and developmental levels.

• Utilize behavior management strategies, including positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques, to support student success.

• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement, independence, and social-emotional growth.

• Collaborate with teachers, mental health professionals, paraprofessional, and support staff to implement IEP goals and interventions effectively.

• Monitor student progress through data collection, ongoing observations, and formative assessments, adjusting instruction as needed.

• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress, behavior, and individualized support strategies.

• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district policies regarding special education documentation, assessments, and reporting.

• Participate in professional development and training to stay current on best practices in special education.

Qualifications: -Valid MN K-12 Special Education Teaching license. -Student-Centered -Commitment and belief around ensuring all students learn at high levels. -Demonstrated use of research-based instructional and engagement strategies to meet the continuum of individual learning needs while using data and assessments to guide instructional decisions. -Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and students to achieve student learning results. FTE/Schedule: 1.0 FTE Salary: Based on candidate's education and experience per the OEA Master Agreement.
