This is a training and work experience opportunity for a Retail Assistant. Participant will be assigned a mentor who will help the trainee develop new skills and gain experience in a busy environment. This role is 100% focused on training and development. The candidate will have the opportunity to develop a broad range of professional skills while gaining hands-on experience in a supportive environment. What You Will Learn: • Operational Support: Assisting with stock deliveries, learn how to create window and shop floor displays. Learn how to process payments and record sales. • Customer Engagement: Learning how to greet and assist customers with queries. • Product Knowledge: Become familiar with the different brands, sizing conversions and best practice for looking after the products. • Stock Room Maintenance: Assist with implementing high standards of cleanliness in the stock room and on the shop floor to ensure a clean and organised shopping environment to include sorting, pricing and preparing stock • Health & Safety: Shadowing staff when retrieving stock from high shelves, using ladders or steps as necessary.. This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP.
