Roscommon Women’s Network is a local community development organisation supporting people across the county through training, education and community projects. One of our initiatives is CycleUp Textiles, a social enterprise that creates new products from recycled materials and promotes sustainability, creativity and community participation. About the Role: This is a friendly and supportive placement where you can gain experience, build confidence and learn new skills while helping out in our Roscommon Town shop and community space. No previous experience is needed - full training and support will be provided by RWN staff. The placement is for 39 hours per fortnight, which can be arranged in one of the following ways depending on the participant and operational needs: Full-time week on / week off arrangement, or 19.5 hours per week across both weeks The successful participant will be primarily based in Roscommon Town, though occasional assistance with ad hoc tasks or events in Athleague may be required from time to time. What You’ll Help With: - Welcoming customers and visitors - Chatting with people about what we do - Helping keep the shop tidy and organised - Assisting with displays and stock - Supporting workshops and community events - Using the till (training provided) - Passing customer enquiries on to staff Skills You Can Gain: - Confidence dealing with people - Retail and customer service experience - Organisation and teamwork skills - Communication skills - Knowledge of recycling and sustainability Who This Might Suit: This placement would suit someone who: - enjoys meeting people - likes working as part of a team - wants to build confidence or learn new skills - has an interest in community projects, crafts or sustainability Training, mentorship and guidance will be provided throughout the placement by Roscommon Women’s Network staff..
