About the Company SchuF is an international industrial valve company specialising in the design and manufacture of process-critical valves. We are currently recruiting a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Cork. Role Overview The CNC Machinist will be responsible for the manufacture of small-batch metal components from engineering drawings, working to tight tolerances. The role involves programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machinery within a precision engineering environment. Key Responsibilities • Manufacture precision components from engineering drawings to tight tolerances • Program, set, and operate CNC turning machines • Operate CNC lathes and/or mill-turn machines • Ensure production targets and quality standards are met • Inspect finished components using appropriate measuring equipment • Identify and resolve machining issues to ensure efficiency and quality • Maintain a safe and organised work environment Requirements • Minimum FETAC Level 6 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering or technical discipline • Or Minimum 4 years’ CNC turning experience (setting and operating) • Proven experience in CNC programming (lathes or mill-turn machines) • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings • Experience working to tight tolerances in a manufacturing environment • Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team Skills and Competencies • Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines • High level of accuracy and attention to detail • Effective communication and teamwork skills • Proactive and flexible approach to work Benefits • Competitive salary (€ 51,000 – €59,800 per annum) • 39-hour week (Monday–Friday, no shift work) • Company pension scheme • 20 days annual leave • Sick pay scheme • On-site parking Additional Information This role may also be described as: CNC Turner, CNC Operator, CNC Programmer, CNC Technician, CNC Engineer, or Toolmaker.
