About this role

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form. Clondalkin Family Practice aims to provide exceptional quality general practice care to its diverse population of patients with various clinic, psychological and social needs. We have an opportunity for someone to join our team and gain experience in this dual role of administrative and clinical assistant. This is a training and work experience opportunity- no prior experience in this role is necessary. However, it is very important for the suitable candidate to have a genuine desire to help and care for people attending our practice as part of our team. Applicants should be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form and sign confidentiality agreement. The day to day duties for this clinical and administrative assistant position will include the following: greeting patients, answering phones, booking appointments, responding to basic patient queries, customer service assisting with allocating administration tasks for clinical staff, managing emails, paperwork, scanning and electronic filling. assisting clinical team with tasks including measuring height and weight, blood pressure, applying /removing 24 BP monitors and downloading results to patients files, using hand held ECG device and updating results on patients files. Suitable candidates might get further training in other clinical skills .. This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP. Formal Training: HSEland online training: The fundamentals of GDPR An Introduction to Children First AMRIC Hand Hygiene Cyber Security Awareness Your safety, Health and Welfare in Healthcare Being an Effective Team Member Informal Training: You will be fully trained in using Healthone, general practice management software. Greeting patients and customer services Booking appointments Scheduling admin tasks for clinical staff Managing emails (healthmail and practice email) Managing calendly scheduling system Preparing phlebotomy forms for the clinical team Digital filling paperwork Application of The Primary care reimbursement claiming system to submit claims Handling of payments and balancing of accounts Use of Simple medical nomenclature maintenance/cleaning of equipment including nebuliser masks, 24 BP monitors etc measuring and recording height / weight, BMI, waist measurement, pulse, blood pressure applying /removing 24 BP monitors, downloading results to patients files using a hand held ECG device and updating results on patients files.
