About this role
For the duration of this work experience the successful candidate will be trained in the following daily tasks. • Learn how to operate production machinery. • Keeping the machines clean and any issues with machines need to be reported to supervisor. • How to check weights of products as they are manufactured to the specs on the job sheet for each order. • Ensure all products are run to correct specs as per orders details. • Ensure that at all product is produced to the correct standards, especially for food contact product. • Label, box, and palletise all products correctly. • Maintain housekeeping standards in production area. • Assist in stock takes when required. • Understand how to keep working area clear from all potential hazards. • Adhere to Health and Safety procedures at all times.. This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP. Formal training - includes manual handling, structured internal training on NPP equipment and machines and understanding of the standard operating procedures in our conversion process. It also includes forklift training at the end of the work experience. Informal training - consists of shadowing an experiences production operative in the production stretch film packaging.
