Netsimco, a Saalex Company is seeking a Systems Administrator in Newport, RI to support the installation, configuration, maintenance, and security of enterprise information systems. The selected candidate will be responsible for administering Windows and Linux-based environments, supporting networked systems, implementing backup and recovery solutions, and ensuring the reliability, availability, and security of computing infrastructure. This position requires a strong technical foundation in systems administration, troubleshooting, and enterprise technologies.
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $95k-$110k annually (depending on experience) Work Location: Onsite.
Essential Functions:
Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux operating systems.Administer enterprise server environments including Microsoft Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).Monitor system performance, availability, and security to ensure optimal operation.Perform hardware and software installations, upgrades, patching, and configuration management.Support web application servers and associated infrastructure.Implement and maintain system backup and disaster recovery procedures.Analyze and resolve system, network, hardware, and software issues.Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with organizational security requirements.Support network infrastructure and coordinate with network engineering personnel as needed.Maintain technical documentation, system configurations, and standard operating procedures.Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and information assurance requirements.Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end users and stakeholders.Other duties as assigned or required.Requirements
Required:
Minimum of 3 years of professional systems administration experience.Current Microsoft certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, or equivalent).At least 1 year of experience in one or more of the following areas: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)Web application server administrationNetwork engineeringUNIX/Linux system administrationSystem backup and recoveryInstallation and configuration of hardware, operating systems, and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) softwareExperience installing, configuring, and maintaining server operating systems and enterprise applications.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired:
Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Government, or military environments.Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise storage solutions.Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and security compliance frameworks.Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.Additional certifications such as Security+, Linux+, RHCSA, RHCE, or equivalent.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
Security Clearance:
Active Top Secret clearance required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
