Position Profile: The Night House Attendant will work with one of the four CUMFI Supported Living Homes to support individuals with a philosophy of building on strengths and supporting challenges. This position will require teamwork and general office duties to provide community support services to our families. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Foster a team approach with the other staff. Assist in accessing community resources. Monitor families to ensure that the environment is drug and alcohol free. Oversee and witness client taking their medication(s). Provided administrative duties i.e. scanning, filing, court documentation. Documenting all checks as well as detailed incident reports if they occur. Report all major incidents to Directors when they occur i.e. police, fire, ambulance. Clean all common areas including the stairways, hallways, bathroom and office area. Assist childcare if needed. Monitor the buildings security cameras. Hourly hallway checks after initial first check. Other duties assigned by Director(s). QUALIFICATIONS: Must have knowledge/experience with all sectors including justice, mental health and addictions, family services, income support, education and health. Must have knowledge of Metis and Indigenous culture. Experience working with individuals and families who have been involved in a high risk lifestyle. Knowledge and understanding of the history of Indigenous peoples and their socio-economic backgrounds. Knowledge of alcohol/drug recovery and relapse dynamics is an asset. Must have a working knowledge of windows-based computer software programs. Respectful of confidentiality. Criminal and vulnerable persons record check. Current First Aid and CPR certificates or a willingness to take required training to receive certification.
