About this role
*Overview* Brookview Dental Clinic in the Riverbend/Terwillegar area is seeking a dental hygienist for a part-time mat leave positon that is available July 30th. The position will take you to Jan 21, 2027 with a possiblilty of extention to permanent part-time.
We require a RDH for 1-2 days per week.
*Duties*
* Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup * Take and develop dental radiographs as needed * Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care * Assist in diagnosing periodontal issues and recommend appropriate treatments * Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments in accordance with infection control protocols * Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient concerns and ensuring a comfortable experience * Maintain accurate patient records using dental management software such as Power Practice * Collaborate with dentists and other team members to deliver comprehensive dental care * Support pediatric patients with gentle, age-appropriate care techniques * Assist with administrative tasks when necessary, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow
*Requirements*
* Valid Dental Hygienist license * Proven experience working in a dental office setting; familiarity with Power Practice software is preferred * Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry * Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care * Ability to communicate effectively in both English and another language (bilingual skills) are highly desirable * Ability to work well within a team environment while maintaining high standards of professionalism and hygiene standards
Job Types: Part-time, Casual
Pay: $55.00-$65.00 per hour
