He/she will collaborate with Editors and Producers to ensure news content is balanced, fair and accurate. The position produces newscasts and other news content and programmes across media platforms.</p> <p> </p> <h1>Responsibilities:</h1> <p><strong><em> </em></strong></p> <ol> <li>Produce accurate, relevant and timely reports for all platforms.</li> <li>Use data, field reporting and online sources to conduct research and interviews to create strong contextual reports.</li> <li>Communicate with the Lead Editor- Investigative to determine story angles and requirements for each medium.</li> <li>Collaborate with Photographers/Videographers to create strong visuals and images for multimedia platforms.</li> <li>Ensure that news products are editorially and technically sound, and fulfills the criteria by including strong angles, legal protection, proper timing and graphic elements.</li> <li>Collaborate with Graphics and other departments to create unique storytelling ideas.</li> <li>Post content to social media/digital platforms in a timely manner.</li> <li>Collaborate with content, digital and broadcast teams to write and edit copy for multimedia platforms.</li> <li>Host, present or anchor news programmes on TV/ Radio or other multimedia platforms.</li> <li>Create show rundowns/ headlines and ensure they are well ordered to create high-quality programmes across media platforms.</li> <li>Liaise with reporters/editors on story angles, story times and other elements of the newscasts such as teases and stand-ups.</li> <li>Perform any other related duties as assigned by Manager or any other designated individual</li> </ol> <h1> </h1> <h1>Qualifications</h1> <ul> <li>A Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism/Mass Communications/Communications Studies or any related field is required</li> <li>A Master’s Degree would be considered an asset</li> <li>Previous experience as an Investigative Reporter would also be considered an asset.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <h1>Experience</h1> <ul> <li>A minimum of 7- 10 years’ work experience in a media industry</li> <li>Must have 3 years working experience with specialized investigative reporting</li> <li>Experience in a multimedia environment would be an asset.</li> </ul> </div> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><em>Or any equivalent combination of qualifications and experience</em></p> <p><em> </em></p> <h1>Knowledge Skills & Abilities</h1> <ul> <li>Provide keen editorial judgement</li> <li>Skilled in long and short-form writing, audio visual production, conceptualizing story ideas.</li> <li>Ability to report in a multi-media platform</li> <li>Ability to extensive source networks</li> <li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail</li> <li>Ability to work in a team environment</li> <li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment</li> </ul>
