The role requires ownership across development, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and production support, ensuring high-quality and reliable delivery<br>Full Stack Development (Hands on)<br>• Design and develop end-to-end applications using: <br>Backend: Java, Spring Boot<br>Frontend: React<br>• Build and consume RESTful APIs / microservices<br>• Work with PostgreSQL (schema design, queries, performance tuning)<br>• Ensure code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and best practices<br> DevOps (Hands on)<br>• Build and manage and deploy CI/CD pipelines (GitLab pipeline)<br>• Implement containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) where applicable<br>• Set up monitoring, logging and alerting on monitoring apps like Dynatrace.<br>End-to-End Ownership<br>• Own lifecycle: design → build → deploy → operate → optimize<br>• Support release management and production deployments<br>• Troubleshoot issues across application, infrastructure, and database layers<br>• Collaborate with architects, platform teams, and delivery teams</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Essential Skills / Experience</b></H2> </div><div><p>Core Development<br>• Strong hands-on experience in: Java, Spring Boot, React<br>• Experience with microservices architecture<br>• Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL<br> DevOps & Cloud<br>• Hands-on experience with: CI/CD pipelines, Docker & Kubernetes<br>• Exposure to: Logging & monitoring tools<br> Engineering Practices<br>o Knowledge of: Git, branching strategies, Agile / Scrum delivery, Secure coding and basic application security practices</p> <p>Experience:<br>• Essential: <br>• 6– 8 years in software engineering <br>• Proven hands-on experience across both development and DevOps<br>• Strong ownership mindset (build + run) <br>• Ability to work across multiple layers of the stack <br>• Problem-solving across code, infra, and data <br>• Effective stakeholder collaboration</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Desirable Skills / Experience</b></H2> </div><div><p>• Desirable: Development experience with Spring framework is desired.<br>• Experience with Postgres advanced features (RLS, performance tuning)<br>• Telecom / OSS / GIS domain exposure <br>• Knowledge of API security, RBAC models<br>• Exposure to SRE practices / reliability engineering</p></div></div></div><p>BT is the UK’s leading communications group and the holding company behind some of the country’s most recognised brands – including BT, EE, Openreach and Plusnet.
