<p><strong>CommScope is looking for a Technician II, Maintenance-HVAC & Facilities in our Catawba, NC maintenance department! This role is more electrical/technical in nature due to Equipment Installation problem solving and working with a variety of controls equipment.</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, address, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems, and processes to support the achievement of business unit goals and objectives. Responsible for maintaining, solving problems, and repairing PLCs, AC/DC Drives, and motor and drive controls. Also, the individual will participate in general maintenance duties of the equipment and facilities as advised by their supervisor.</p> <p> </p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>5 Day, 8am-4pm, 8-hour shifts</li> </ul> <p><strong>How You'll Help Us Connect the World</strong></p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Troubleshoot and repair machine Electro-Mechanical malfunctions utilizing appropriate test equipment to analyze problems and correct deficiencies to include multimeters, oscilloscopes, Laptop computers and PLC interface.</li> <li>Utilize mechanical equipment including lathes, mills, cutting and welding tools.</li> <li>Work effectively with Automation and Instrumentation devices in support of engineering or technicians.</li> <li>Troubleshoot equipment Motor and Drive control issues.</li> <li>Follow all proactive safety measures to include but not limited to NEC, NFPA and other pertinent safety codes. Ensure safety procedures, such as Lock-Out/Tag-Out are always followed.</li> <li>Possess extensive knowledge of production systems including but not limited to compound system, air compressors, pit water system, HVAC and chillers.</li> <li>Must have a strong fundamental understanding of 3 Phase electrical systems, machine/motion control systems, electro-mechanical systems, VFD and Servo systems.</li> <li>Assist in developing, coordinating and managing ongoing in-house training programs.</li> <li>Support the Parts department by assisting with identifying and maintaining parts used on the equipment and inventory of repair parts and manufacturing supplies.</li> <li>Execute project assignments in a team-based environment with minimal supervision.</li> <li>Demonstrate sound troubleshooting skills.</li> <li>Maintain PM and records for all plant equipment.</li> <li>Must be able to read electrical drawings and schematics.</li> <li>Other general facilities and project duties as assigned.</li> <li> <p><strong>Workers are responsible for:</strong></p> <ul> <li><span>Understanding and following the requirements of the <span>EHS</span> Policy, Standards, and relevant facility and operations <span>EHS</span> procedures.</span></li> <li><span>Performing assigned tasks, utilizing competencies obtained, to identify all OH&S risks and environmental impacts to which they are potentially exposed and mitigate exposure using defined controls.</span></li> <li><span>Reporting to supervisor, <span>EHS</span> or any other appropriate party(ies) identified by site management, <span>EHS</span> concerns immediately upon identification.</span></li> <li><span>Communicating opportunities to supervisor, <span>EHS</span> or any other appropriate party identified by site management that contributes to the continuous improvement of the <span>EHS</span>MS.</span></li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Qualifications for Consideration:</strong></p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>2 years of demonstrated manufacturing experience working with PLCs/HMIs/VFDs controlling process and automation equipment. </li> <li>Minimum of 2 years of experience working with AC/DC/VFD drives. </li> <li>Good mechanical skill set.</li> <li>Electrical certification.</li> <li>HVAC/Refrigeration certification</li> <li>Will consider military experience and training in lieu of industrial experience. </li> <li>Valid Driver’s license.</li> <li>High School diploma or GED</li> </ul> <p><strong>You will excite us if you have:</strong></p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Allen Bradley ControlLogix, Legacy PLC Products, SLC and PLC5; Siemens S7 PLC.</li> <li>Allen Bradley AC/DC drive products including Powerflex and Kinetix products.</li> <li>State electrical license preferred.</li> <li>Associate Degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Systems, Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration or related fields.</li> </ul> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Associate degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Systems or related fields</li> <li>Associate's Degree in Electronics and or Electrical Engineering Technologies</li> </ul> <p>The candidate will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including, medical, dental, and vision plans, life and accidental death insurance, a 401(k) plan, and participation in the Company’s Incentive Plan.
