Location: Pasadena, TX (Bayport Site) Travel: None Job Type: Full-time; On-site How You’ll Make an Impact As a Shift Operator, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation by operating equipment and/or areas in the unit, using knowledge and experience to operate in a safe, environmental responsible, and efficient manner. In addition, the Shift Operator will execute and contribute to the unit work activity task list. In this role, you will: <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Perform rounds & field quality testing to check process equipment, product quality, and monitor process conditions and control systems. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Perform tasks assigned to operations. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Use basic troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to resolve process deviation and upset conditions. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Perform simple problem solving and participates in improving daily work. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Follow the standard work processes and practices as outlined by the site and/or unit. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Understand and deliver what is expected of operators when an unplanned event occurs that will trigger a root cause investigation. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Participate in root cause investigations as requested. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Train new unit operating personnel and shares operating knowledge for their development. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Ensure operations performance within their assigned responsibility align with plant and business goals. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Make improvements in unit operating discipline and performance based on personal knowledge and skills. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Monitor key unit metrics to ensure plant performance remains on track to achieve unit and business goals. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Perform autonomous maintenance tasks with a goal to keep equipment in good operating condition and prevent future equipment failures. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Accurately and completely records asset utilization losses. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Develop the skills and competencies required to perform operator care for the plant activities. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Utilize the appropriate operating discipline and safe work practices required when performing operator care for the plant activities. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Follow the Procedure Use Policy of the unit and/or site.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Additional duties as assigned.</li> </ul> Required Qualifications that Enables Your Success <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">High School Diploma.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Basic mechanical aptitude. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Basic math, reading, and computer skills. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Excellent communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills to work with varying departments. </li> </ul> Preferred Qualifications that Drives you Forward <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Certificate of Process Technology. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">SAP and Delta-V process knowledge. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Leadership and technical skills. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Continuous process experience. </li> </ul> Your Work Environment At Lubrizol, we’re committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment where you can do your best work—whether in a lab, on the production floor, or in a hybrid office setting.
