<p><strong>Location</strong>: Nestlé East London Factory</p> <p><strong>Qualification</strong>: Tertiary qualification in <strong>Instrumentation</strong>.Trade certificate in Instrumentation (red seal) is mandatory.</p> <ul type="disc"> <li>N6/S4 in Instrumentation or Digital Electronics or Electrical engineering</li> </ul> <p><strong>Experience:</strong> Previous experience on instrumentation is essential <strong>(min 3 years)</strong>, preferably FMCG environment</p> <p>Closing date: 22 July 2026</p> <p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p> <p>As an Instrumentation Technician, you will be working to drive improvements in the performance of machinery and assets, reporting to the Automation Engineer on a daily basis.</p> <p>The factory is moving forward with continuous improvement principles and actively developing TPM processes so it’s an exciting time to be involved and it is expected that you will play a key part in this.</p> <p>You will be responsible for the calibration / maintenance of instrumentation onsite to ensure we are 100% compliant with food safety standards. Attending to instrumentation faults and breakdowns in the factory as well as calibration of all equipment and instrumentation (Metal detectors/Xray/etc) are some of the main duties.</p> <p><strong>What will make you successful</strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Previous experience on instrumentation is essential <strong>(min 3 years)</strong></li> <li>Tertiary qualification in <strong>Instrumentation</strong>. Trade certificate in Instrumentation (red seal) is mandatory.</li> <li>N6/S4 in Instrumentation or Digital Electronics or Electrical engineering</li> <li>Be able to read Engineering drawings</li> <li>Be able to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders</li> <li>Demonstrate a sense of urgency whilst never compromising safety or product quality</li> <li>Experience of hazardous area ratings and installations</li> <li>Knowledge of controls systems, data interfaces and communications protocols.</li> <li>Familiarity with process control through <strong>PLC systems. Allen Bradley PLC experience </strong>will be a added benefit.</li> <li>Leadership skills are critical i.e. facilitation skills in leading team meetings &amp; coaching and mentoring of production staff on instrumentation equipment</li> <li>Good interpersonal skills</li> <li>Strong analytical &amp; problem solving skills</li> </ul> <p><strong>Long Description</strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Incumbent has to be pro-active and prevent breakdowns on his/her patrols and shows initiative to continuously improve equipment performance</li> <li>Carry out the planned maintenance required on plant</li> <li>Install, service, repair and maintain existing and new equipment</li> <li>Attend to instrumentation l faults and breakdowns in the factory</li> <li>Calibration of all CCP equipment and instrumentation (Metal detectors/Xray/etc)</li> <li>Repair and maintain all aspects of date coding equipment</li> <li>Faultfinding and programming on instrumentation equipment, PLC’s and VSD,s</li> <li>Ensure machine availability for production targets to be met.</li> </ul> <p> </p>
