Under the direct supervision of the Drill Rig Operator, the Drill Rig Assistant performs such tasks and duties as are necessary for the operation & routine maintenance of the drill rig. The position is also responsible for the coordination and implementation of the maintenance and repairs for keeping both drill rig and support vehicle up and running. The position includes training on the operation of the drill rig to allow for the eventual qualification for promotion to Drill Rig Operator. This is a union position.
