Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive clinical photography service, producing high-quality images to support diagnosis, patient case records, education, research, and publication activities.

The post holder will also play an active role in developing and enhancing the clinical photography service, working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external commissioning partners to ensure the service continues to meet organisational and patient needs.

Job description Job responsibilities Deliver high-quality clinical photography to support diagnosis, patient care, education, research, and publication. Produce medically and legally accurate images using advanced photographic and digital imaging techniques. Obtain and document informed patient consent, ensuring ethical and professional standards are maintained. Select the most appropriate photographic techniques, equipment, and lighting to accurately capture clinical conditions. Lead quality improvement initiatives, service audits, and continuous enhancement projects. Support the implementation of new imaging technologies, techniques, and best practice standards. Maintain quality assurance processes to ensure consistently high standards of clinical photography. Train, mentor, and support colleagues within the clinical photography service. Ensure the safe use, maintenance, storage, and management of specialist photographic equipment and resources. Provide guidance on consent, confidentiality, legislation, and policy relating to clinical photography

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Experience in clinical or medical photography, with the ability to produce consistently high-quality images. Strong knowledge of consent, confidentiality, information governance, and ethical photographic practice. Excellent technical skills in digital photography, lighting techniques, and image processing A commitment to quality improvement, with experience of audits, quality assurance, or service development activities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work sensitively and professionally with patients, clinicians, and colleagues. A recognised qualification in Clinical Photography or equivalent professional experience.
