Job summary

Richmond Road Medical Centre is looking to recruit a motivated and experienced Full time Practice Nurse to join our well established and dynamic team based in Hackney.

We are an award-winning, high-achieving and forward thinking practice with a list size of 25,000 patients. We take pride in the delivery of high quality patient care, and achieving targets amongst the highest both locally and nationally.

The successful candidate will join our well established nursing team and be fully supported by our dedicated team of Clinicians and administrative staff. You will receive regular mentoring, teaching and training and the ongoing opportunity for professional development.

The ideal candidate should meet the requirements set out in the Job Description. You should have a minimum of 2 years Practice Nurse Experience (although a successfully recruited nurse who is fairly newly qualified will receive full relevant training and support).

You must have experience as a NMC Registered Practice Nurse and have experience in General Practice environment.

Job description Job responsibilities

Job Description

You must have experience as a NMC Registered Practice Nurse and have experience in:

* Long term chronic health conditions management including Diabetes, COPD/Asthma and Hypertension.

* Minor and complex wound management including removal of sutures, leg ulcers and Doppler assessments.

* Completing referral requests as appropriate for diabetes, respiratory and tissue viability specialist teams.

* Requesting tests including pathology, haematology, urinalysis and wound swabs as required.

* Advise individual patients on aspects of their lifestyle to promote good health in accordance with modern practice.

* New Patient medicals/Urinalysis.

* Travel clinics for health advice and vaccinations including Yellow Fever vaccination.

* Oral contraception repeats consultation.

* Cytology

* Ear syringing procedure.

* Childhood immunisations

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Qualified Nurse NMC registration Primary Practice Nurse course

Experience Essential

Experience of working within a General Practice team
