About this role

Job summary

We are looking for compassionate, dedicated, and reliable Health Care Assistants to join our growing team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering person-centred care and support to individuals

Main duties of the job

The following are the core responsibilities of the Healthcare Assistant. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

Undertake NHS Health Checks Carry out baseline observations such as pulse oximitery, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, recording findings accurately Facilitate routine and 24-hour BP monitoring, advising patients accordingly Undertake wound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as required Carry out BMI checks as directed Act as a chaperone as required Undertake venepuncture Administer vaccinations such as Shingles, Pneumonia and flu vaccinations Carry out ECGs as requested Ensure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation Provide support during minor operations as required Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session Ensure fridges are cleaned routinely in accordance with extant guidance Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced in accordance with the practice IPC policy Deliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriate To be prepared to work across all locations which may be communicated at short notice due to unexpected absences within the team To attend regular training updates and nurses meetings

Job description Job responsibilities

Hours:29 Hours per week

Monday 0800-1300 Tuesday- 08.00-18.00 Wednesday-Non-Working Day Thursday 08.00-18.00 Friday 08.00-1300 Pay depending on experience (£13.01-£13.43 per hour)

Skills Essential

* Competent in the use of Office and Outlook * EMIS / Systmone / Vision user skills

Experience Essential

Experience of working with the general public Experience of working in a healthcare setting

Experience of working in a primary care environment

Qualifications Essential

Phlebotomy certification Healthcare qualification (level 2 or 3) or working towards gaining equivalent level

Clinical Knowledge & Skills Essential

* Venepuncture

Desirable

* Wound Care / Removal of sutures & staples * ECGs * New patient medicals inc. Height, weight, BP, Pulse * Chaperone procedure * Ability to record accurate clinical notes
