Job summary
We are seeking an exceptional candidate for a Fixed Term Salaried GP position (7 sessions) to join our friendly, enthusiastic and dedicated team.
As a General Practitioner you will provide high-quality patient centered care whilst working as part of a multidisciplinary team. The role includes routine clinical sessions, duty triage, telephone and face to face consultations.
Main duties of the job
Provide high quality clinical care to patients in line with GMC and RCGP standards Undertake a mix of telephone, face to face, and triage consultations Manage acute, chronic, and preventive care needs Support duty doctor sessions as part of the clinical rota Review pathology results, documents, and correspondence (supported by digital automation tools) Contribute to clinical meetings, MDT discussions, and practice development Engage in CPD, appraisal, and revalidation activities Work collaboratively with the wider MDT, including pharmacy, and nursing teams Maintain accurate, timely clinical records using EMIS and Docman Practice Systems & Digital Tools

About us
Market Quarter Medical Practice is a well established GP practice in Rugby, Warwickshire with a patient list of 8,400. We are a training practice with a clinical team consisting of 2 GP Partners, 3 salaried GP's, 1 ANP, 1 Nurse and 1 HCA.
We are supported by PCN additional roles - First Contact Physiotherapist, Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, Social Prescriber, Occupational Therapy, Dietician, Podiatry, GP Assistant, Mental Health & Wellbeing nurses, Enhanced Access team.

Primary Responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled populationThe provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidanceEffective management of long-term conditionsProcessing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasksOn a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor rolesMaintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidanceWorking collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workloadAdhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit processContribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practiceAccept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOFAttend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as requiredContribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including; clinical governance, training, financial management and HREnsure compliance with the appraisal processPrepare and complete the revalidation processCommit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice teamSupport the training of medical students from all clinical disciplinesSupport the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditureReview and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all timesEncourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times
Secondary Responsibilities
In addition to the primary responsibilities, the salaried GP may be requested to:
Participate in practice audits as requested by the audit leadParticipate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient careParticipate in the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approach i.e. root cause analysis (RCA)

Qualifications Essential
Fully qualified GP with GMC registration Annual appraisal and revalidation when appropriate General practice Vocational Training Scheme trained On a PCT medical performers list Enhanced CRB check UK driving licence Current CPR certificate UK work permit if required Medical defence union cover.
Desirable
Experience with primary care IT systems e.g. EMIS Web
Experience Essential
Chronic disease management Primary prevention and screening services Clinical Governance Delivery of QoF targets Self audit and reflection Organised and efficient in record keeping and completion of paperwork Time management being able to prioritise work and work under pressure Computer literacy
