Credence has an immediate need for a Software Engineer at the senior level to support our Explosive Ordinance Disposal Information Management System (EODIMS) at Robins AFB, GA. The EODIMS Branch supports post-use reporting requirements for ordinance, explosives, and munitions tracking, planning, and programming.
The Software Engineer will perform work that applies a broad theoretical and practical knowledge of SW engineering to include but not be limited to reviewing, preparing, and analyzing all types of documentation: Planning, requirements, design, V&V, support and test. Also, include source code, configuration files and engineering resolution support.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below:
Determining operational feasibility by evaluating data, analyses, technical reports, requirements, and proposed solutions of assigned systems or programsDocumenting and demonstrating solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear codeImproving operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and proceduresObtaining and licensing SW by obtaining required information from vendors; recommending purchases; testing and approving productsProviding information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issuesAccomplish engineering and organization mission by completing related items, as neededPerforming SW Quality Assurance to ensure that developed SW meets and complies with defined or standardized quality specifications.Working as a member of an agile SW development team. Performing some mix of the below tasks as directed by the Government team leader or engineering leadElaborate high level feature/function descriptions into detailed technical designs and tasks, in collaboration with users (from Lead Command or operating units) and Government lead engineersPerform coding tasks for features/functionsPerform coding tasks for functional and performance tests for features/functionsPerform peer design and code reviews with other team membersPerform coding/scripting tasks for SW build, packaging, and deploymentPerform other SW engineering and documentation tasks as assignedRequirements
Education, Requirements and Qualifications:
A minimum of a Top-Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) eligibility is required. Minimum Recommended Education and Experience:
Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an ABET-accredited university and ten (10) years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five (5) years of which must be in DoD acquisition.Or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an ABET-accredited university and twelve (12) years of experience in the respective technical/professional disciplines being performed, five (5) of which must be in DoD acquisition. Required Experience and Skills:
Relevant experience includes duties related to AF LCM of weapon systems or weapon system products, identifying technical requirements and deliverables for weapon systems, and validating and verifying product deliveries to ensure adherence of the product to identified requirements. Familiarity with AF LCM processes is required. Knowledge of regulations, policies, and operating instructions as they pertain to the preparation of technical documents, technical data, and systems engineering execution is required.Experience with the programming language specific to the weapon system or program for which the position will support is required; programming languages are non-proprietary and common to other industries (C++, Common Business Oriented Language, Java, Hypertext Markup Language, or C#, etc.)Required Professional Qualifications:
