About this role

If you are a low voltage technician with experience installing structured cabling or network infrastructure (cat5, cat6. Racks, cabinets, patch panels, terminations) we want to hear from you! We are looking for several technicians with previous experience to assist on some of our larger installations. As a Technician I - Structured cabling, with Bosch Building Technologies, you will collaboratively review, understand, analyze (for correctness), and implement installation blueprints and plans from Project Managers and Sales Teams to complete installations.    This role requires the ability and knowhow to properly complete the installation, understand and follow the bill of material (BOM), and be capable of adjusting or finding alternative solutions as needed to complete installations to client satisfaction.    We expect all employees to represent Bosch Building Technologies in a professional manner in line with our values of a leadership mindset, people development, team, and client-focused.   RESPONSIBILITIES: Install and service cabling infrastructure and devices for Data and Audio Visual and CCTV; includes pre-wiring, installation, termination, labeling, testing and reporting per specifications and drawings.   Install network racks and cabinets in server rooms.   Complete detailed and accurate documentation, including OHS checks, packing slips, checklists, as-builts, test results.  Interact with customers and prospects, ensuring all inquiries are handled professionally while consistently providing high levels of customer service. •   Adhere to Bosch Building Technologies’s Quality and Safety programs.   Travel and overtime may be requested with this position on an ad hoc basis.   Other duties as required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1-3 years of experience in a technical role within the integrated security industry. Experience pulling, terminating, and testing cat 5/6 and fiber optic cables. Experience installing other cabling infrastructure (racks, cabinets, etc.). Flexibility to work in a variety of environments, from construction sites to finished corporate offices. Valid Driver’s License with clean abstract and no restrictions. Must be bondable and able to pass a background check. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Post-secondary education in electrical, telecommunications, electronics, or equivalent.   Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail. Strong problem-solving skills. PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES: Proper hand and power tool operations and safety. Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under minimal supervision. Ability to organize workload for effective implementation. Ability to complete projects on time and on budget. Ability to write simple correspondence and present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures. Ability to function as an effective team member. Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves.
