*Responsibilities *
*Production:*
* Plan, coordinate, and manage daily production activities to meet customer orders, inventory targets, and delivery deadlines. * Monitor production flow and adjust staffing, equipment usage, or processes as needed. * Provide supervisor/support staff with strong leadership and career development. * Ensure all products meet company standards for quality, consistency, and presentation. * Oversee all plant personnel including bakers, operators, and packaging personnel. * Create staffing schedules and manage labour to align with production needs and budget. * Foster a positive and collaborative work environment with a strong focus on safety and performance. * Enforce food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures (HACCP, GMP, OSHA). * Conduct regular product, equipment, and facility inspections. * Partner with Quality Assurance teams to address defects, implement corrective actions, and maintain audit readiness. * Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize workflows. * Implement standardized operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices. * Lead root?cause analysis for production issues and drive process enhancements. * Coordinate with maintenance to minimize downtime and schedule repairs. * Manage ingredient and packaging inventory, support procurement by monitoring usage and forecasting needs. * Collaborate with supply chain, sales, and logistics teams to align production with demand. * Track key performance metrics (yield, waste, labour efficiency, downtime, output rates).
*Qualifications*
*Required*
* 5+ years of experience in food production; commercial bakery experience strongly preferred. * Strong leadership skills with experience supervising hourly teams. * ERP/MRP System required. * Solid understanding of bakery processes (mixing, proofing, baking, cooling, packaging). * Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. * Ability to multitask and problem?solve in a high?volume environment. * Strong organizational, communication, and time?management skills.
*Preferred*
* Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement principles. * Experience managing semi-automated bakery machinery or industrial production lines. * Experience running a 24-hour shift.
