Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Meat processing and/or packing plant/establishment. Tasks: Clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting. Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by customers. Cut, trim and prepare standard cuts of meat. Weigh meats for sale. Cut poultry into parts. Supervise other butchers, meat cutters and fishmongers. Shape, lace and tie roasts, other meats, poultry and seafood. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Standing for extended periods. Handling heavy loads.
