<div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>POSITION GOAL</b></H2> </div><div><p>To apply the principles, practice and methods related to the identification and treatment of communication disorders to the development and implementation of speech-language therapy programs for students.</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES</b></H2> </div><div><ul> The Speech-Language Pathologist shall carry out the performance responsibilities listed below: <li>Use standardized screening tests and other methods to identify students with potential speech and language disorders.</li> <li>Develop an efficient referral procedure to respond to requests for services by teachers, parents and others.</li> <li>Select, administer and analyze diagnostic assessments to identify students with speech and language disorders.</li> <li>Comply with the state and district procedures to determine students eligible for speech and language therapy services.</li> <li>Participate in multidisciplinary teams and conferences for the benefit of students.</li> <li>Use diagnostic information as well as other educationally relevant information to develop an individual education plan (iep) and recommend speech and language therapy services</li> <li>Provide an array of speech and language therapy services to students based on their individual needs.</li> <li>Continuously evaluate the progress of students receiving speech and language therapy services.</li> <li>Recommend reevaluation procedures for students to determine the need for continued speech and language therapy services or dismissal.</li> <li>Select, use and maintain materials, equipment or supplies needed to provide a speech and language therapy program.</li> <li>Provide training to other school staff, parents and the community about the goals of the speech and language therapy program.</li> <li>Participate in continuing education to maintain professional skills.</li> <li>Collaborate with teachers and parents for the benefit of students.</li> <li>Communicate with outside agencies for the benefit of students.</li> <li>Direct the activities of speech-language assistants to implement specified program services.</li> <li>Keep accurate and current records on students.</li> <li>Cooperate with district, other administrators and support personnel for the benefit of students.</li> <li>Conform to all rules and regulations that may be prescribed by the state and the school board.</li> <li>Perform and promote all activities in compliance with equal employment and non-discrimination policies of The school Board of Broward County.</li> <li>Participate successfully in the training programs offered to increase the individual&apos;s skill and proficiency related to the assignments.</li> <li>Review current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibility.</li> <li>Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.</li> <li>Follow federal and state laws, as well as school board policies.</li> <li>Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or designee.</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS &amp; EXPERIENCE</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li>An earned master&apos;s degree in speech pathology; Florida state certification in speech-language impaired.</li> <li>Permit the School Board to hire Bachelor level personnel to meet the school district&apos;s critical need necessary to serve the needs of students requiring Speech-Language services.</li> <li>The Board will consider individuals eligible for a temporary certificate in speech-language impaired who agree to enroll in and remain in good standing in a graduate program of study leading to a Master&apos;s degree in speech-language pathology, unless prohibited by changes in state statute.</li> <li>Computer skills as required for the position.</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS &amp;
