GMx - Manager - Commercial Controlling EY Global Delivery Services (GDS) is a global network delivering scalable, technology-enabled solutions to EY member firms and clients worldwide. The GMX Controlling Team plays a key role in driving commercial excellence, enabling robust financial management, contract compliance, and value delivery across complex, multi-country deals. The Opportunity As a Controller, you will align to a high-profile engagement, taking ownership of contract management across commercial, financial, and engagement dimensions. You will partner closely with engagement leadership and key stakeholders to drive financial performance and ensure adherence to contractual requirements. You will bring strong commercial acumen and proven experience in financial and engagement management. In addition, you will play a key role in leading, coaching, and developing junior team members, contributing to the overall effectiveness and capability of the Controlling Function. Your Key Responsibilities Commercial & Contract Management <ul> <li>Demonstrate a strong understanding of the contract’s commercial construct and underlying business case</li> <li>Act as the primary point of contact for all commercial matters for the client, Engagement Partner, Tax Account Lead and Tax leadership</li> <li>Drive the activation and governance of commercial contractual clauses, ensuring early identification and mitigation of non-compliance risks</li> <li>Support contract renewals and related commercial discussions</li> </ul> Financial Management & Governance <ul> <li>Build and maintain visibility of global engagement financials, driving robust commercial governance with key stakeholders</li> <li>Monitor and report financial performance against plan, supported by detailed variance analysis and root cause insights</li> <li>Recommend and implement actions to mitigate risks and capitalise on commercial opportunities</li> </ul> Operational Oversight & Delivery Excellence <ul> <li>Lead and manage the Commercial Operations team, ensuring adherence to EY standards and Quality & Risk Management (QRM) requirements</li> <li>Oversee and review key deliverables, including internal contracting, change requests (scope and fee), estimates to complete, billing, reporting and pricing plans</li> <li>Drive consistency, accuracy and continuous improvement across commercial processes and deliverables</li> </ul> Skills and attributes for success <ul> <li>Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships and influence senior leadership</li> <li>Self-assured and confident, with the ability to bring fresh insights to complex business challenges</li> <li>Proactive, self-driven mindset with strong business acumen and the ability to prioritise effectively</li> <li>Ability to shape innovative solutions and implement best practices to optimise financial performance</li> <li>Flexibility and adaptability to respond to evolving business needs</li> <li>Strong team orientation with a passion for coaching, mentoring and developing junior team members</li> </ul> To qualify for the role, you must have <ul> <li>A Graduate/MBA degree or equivalent.</li> <li>10-15 years of experience.</li> <li>Project Management Skills to deliver positive outcomes in short timelines.</li> <li>Team handling skills.
