Functional Consultant About us: EY’s GDS Tax Technology team’s mission is to develop, implement and integrate technology solutions that better serve our clients and engagement teams. As a member of EY’s core Tax practice, you’ll develop a deep tax technical knowledge and outstanding ERP, database, data analytics and programming skills. Ever-increasing regulations require tax departments to gather, organize and analyse more data than ever before. Often the data necessary to satisfy these ever-increasing and complex regulations must be collected from a variety of systems and departments throughout an organization. Effectively and efficiently handling the variety and volume of data is often extremely challenging and time consuming for a company. EY's GDS Tax Technology team members work side-by-side with the firm's partners, clients and tax technical subject matter experts to develop and incorporate technology solutions that enhance value-add, improve efficiencies and enable our clients with disruptive and market leading tools supporting Tax. GDS Tax Technology works closely with clients and professionals in the following areas: Federal Business Tax Services, Partnership Compliance, Corporate Compliance, Indirect Tax Services, Human Capital, and Internal Tax Services. GDS Tax Technology provides solution architecture, application development, testing and maintenance support to the global TAX service line both on a pro-active basis and in response to specific requests. Key Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Lead functional requirement workshops/meetings with Client teams and create detailed business requirement specification</li> <li>Analyse data and documents to identify insights on current client state - processes, functions, operational practices</li> <li>Create and document business process models to illustrate current and future state processes using various modelling tools</li> <li>Ability to work in an iterative approach with client/onsite teams to build functional solutions through solution wireframes</li> <li>Ability to create future state financial data models identifying relevant data dimensions and attributes that would become the backbone of future solution</li> <li>Document key design decisions and criterions from a future system angle prior to the functional specification documentations</li> <li>Convert the business requirement specification to detailed functional solutions/specifications for design and development</li> <li>Work with offshore design/development team to convert the functional solutions to technical solutions</li> <li>Work as a bridge between client business team and the technical team during the build phase providing requirements debriefs/walk throughs to build the new system is built to specifications.</li> <li>Participate in work products review to validate the work product against the baselined requirements</li> <li>Demonstrate work products to client/onsite in sprint reviews and document feedback</li> <li>Work with the QA team to help them understand requirements and review test cases.</li> <li>Create functional test cases for UAT testing.</li> <li>Create User Manuals, Business User Training Decks, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)s for the solution transition and adoption.</li> <li>Deliver end user training and ensures a smooth transition to the client.</li> <li>Ability to work under agile framework adhering to agile ceremonies and methodologies</li> <li>Create status reports and provide status updates to client against work scope.</li> <li>Ability to learn new work domains as demanded by the project requirements</li> <li>Ability to identify opportunities for business process improvement and optimization through automation</li> </ul> Qualifications & Experience: <ul> <li>CA/CMA/ MBA Finance with 4 to 8 years</li> <li>Minimum 3 to 4 full cycle implementation experience for financial transformation projects preferably on tax/accounting side.</li> <li>Strong functional knowledge and work experience with ERP/EPM tools preferably SAP.</li> </ul> Functional and Technical skillsets: <ul> <li>Financial Planning, Analysis modelling (GL, TB, Financial statements)</li> <li>Tax domain knowledge on areas like International Tax and transactions, Transfer pricing, Legal Entity Forecasting, Financial Planning and Analysis (FPnA), Indirect tax etc</li> <li>ERP / SAP foundational knowledge</li> <li>Experience in ERP implementation is preferred.</li> <li>Experience with Business intelligence tools would have additional preference.</li> </ul> Soft skills: <ul> <li>Problem Solving – Understand core business issues, Problem root cause analysis (RCA), attention to details, apply creative thinking for building novel solutions</li> <li>Analytical Skillset –Situation and Case Analysis, Data Analysis & Interpretation, Business Process Analysis</li> <li>Decision making – Ability to make quick decisions out of the analysis finding and choices available</li> </ul> Communication Skillset – <ul> <li>Oral Communication-Speak efficiently in meetings with clarity and confidence communicating the required information to stakeholders</li> <li>Written communication skills -Producing decks, documents, diagrams, and emails that meets project requirements</li> <li>Active listening and patience to work iteratively</li> <li>Personal strength - Systematic, meticulous, and well organized</li> <li>Social skillset –Ability to collaborate and cooperate with cross functional virtual teams, empathy towards fellow team members</li> <li>Ability to adapt and work in ever changing and uncertain environments</li> </ul> EY | Building a better working world EY exists to build a better working world, helping to create long-term value for clients, people and society and build trust in the capital markets.
